In a unique public development venture, three public agencies collaborated to a regional school in an urban environment. Intended as a catalyst for transit-oriented urban development, the building’s form takes its cues from the functionality of the program, nearby transportation systems, and nodal point in the city grid. The exterior composition of this two-story educational structure is both volumetric and dynamic, while an internal courtyard focuses on interscholastic life. In addition, the project makes use of passive strategies for energy design solutions.
